  • ANLA Announces Stops on 2008 Retail Roadshow

    May 12, 2008

The American Nursery & Landscape Association (ANLA) has announced the host sites and schedule for their 2008 Retail Roadshow, which are posted at www.ANLATours.org. The tour, schedule for June 16 to 19, 2008, will visit leading, innovative garden centers in Columbus, Cincinnati and Dayton, Ohio.

“Ohio represents the heart and soul of our industry,” said Dan Mulhall, president of ANLA’s Retail Division. “These plant-based garden stores are great examples of how to perform in a challenging economy. We have carved out significant blocks of time during the tour where we will discuss merchandising, point-of-sale systems and garden center design and construction. Our goal is not only to inspire our attendees, but to give them practical answers they can implement when they return home.”

This year’s tour will bring attendees to several legends of the Midwest, including Delhi Flower and Garden Center, the Siebenthaler Company and Natorp’s Garden Center. “This year’s Retail Roadshow provides the opportunity to get up close and personal with the challenges of business expansion and transition,” said local tour chairman Tim Clark of H.J. Benken, Inc.

Attendees will visit the Siebenthaler Company’s newest store in Beavercreek, which is managed by the family’s sixth and youngest generation. In addition to Delhi’s flagship store, the tour will drive by their newest location in Middletown, Ohio, with a grand opening scheduled for August 2008.

For more information or to register, visit ANLAtours.org or contact Ashley Giuda at agiuda@anla.org or (202) 789-2900. The current site listing and schedule are subject to change.
