The fourth edition of the Society of American Florists’ (SAF) seminal report has been released. The Changing Floriculture Industry Report — A Statistical Overview tracks industry sales, production levels and trends for each segment of the industry. The report consists of over sixty pages with charts, maps and tables and contains twice the data of the previous edition.
Marvin Miller of Ball Horticultural Co. stated that “in one volume, the entire market channel is revealed, and it’s easy to understand how the industry has and is changing over time.”
The report is produced by SAF’s Business and Economic Trends Committee, a group which represents all segments of floriculture and presents the most statistical overview of the industry available. Another aspect of this current edition is a chapter titled “The Floral Consumer,” which draws on 12 years of industry-sponsored consumer research.
The focus is on floriculture production, wholesaling, importing and retailing and is essential for business owners, educators, students, new industry employees, and anyone interested in the latest information on the floriculture industry. The information will also be helpful for investors, bankers, lenders, researchers and industry trade associations.
The report is available for purchase, with a discounted price for SAF Members. Purchasers of the report can also buy a CD containing PDFs of the reports and charts. For an executive summary of the report, visit www.safnow.org.
