Two companies have just teamed up to travel together toward a more sustainable future: John Henry, which provides print, packaging and merchandising for the horticultural industry, and Blackmore Corporation, a producer of plastic growing trays, recently announced their collaboration to promote recycling of styrene plant tags.
Their new joint program, which combines John Henry’s far-reaching customer base and Blackmore’s plastic molding capabilities, will collect clean styrene tags and recycle them to become plant trays. This process will divert materials that would otherwise wind up in landfills.
Executives at both companies look forward to the partnership and its ramifications for the industry as a whole. “The potential for growers and nurseries to partner with print and packaging suppliers to achieve source reduction will help the entire industry address an area of shared concern,” said John Henry Vice President Kristi Huffman.
