Applications Open for Sidney B. Meadows Scholarship Endowment Fund
Horticultural students can now apply for this year’s Sidney B. Meadows Scholarship Endowment Fund awards. The deadline for application is May 29, 2015. The Scholarship Selection Committee will make final selections by July 1, 2015, and recipients will be notified soon thereafter. Awards will be made on July 22 at SNA ’15 in Atlanta, Georgia. Danny Summers, Executive Vice President of the fund said, “Last year, the fund awarded a total of $18,000 to twelve students. This year, we expect to again award approximately twelve $1,500 scholarships.” “Since its inception, the fund has awarded over $455,000 in scholarships and today the fund’s balance is over $850,000,” Summers added. Created in 1989 by the Southern Nursery Association (SNA), the Sidney B. Meadows Scholarship Endowment Fund is a 501 (c) 3 charitable foundation providing academic scholarships to horticulture students in the sixteen southeastern states.
