Hart’s Greenhouse and Florist, in Canterbury, Conn., has received a $14,500 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Rural Energy for America Program, according to a story by WTNH.

The family-run garden center plans to install a solar system to generate 37,000 kW of electricity per year. U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney told the TV station this grant is vital to reducing Connecticut’s carbon emissions, since the new system will eliminate more than 25 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
