The Garden Center Group Changes Ownership
The Garden Center Group Inc. has announced transition of ownership from Robert and Wendy Hendrickson to Danny and Karen Summers, who will assume ownership and full management beginning March 1, through the newly formed The Garden Center Group LLC.
Since beginning his work with The Group in February 2012 as community manager, Danny Summers has played a major role in managing the growth of The Garden Center Group Inc. community and promoting participation in the common goal of helping all companies involved increase market share, sales and profits. Although this announcement marks the official transition of ownership, Summers & Associates has been providing management services to The Group since October 2013 when Danny was named managing director.
With more than 40 years of combined retail, wholesale, association management and event planning experience, Danny and Karen are excited about this new opportunity. “We are eager to build upon the foundation and success that the Hendricksons have established as we expand the services of The Group to our retail clients,” Danny said. “Both Karen and I would like to thank Robert and Wendy for their years of leadership in building The Group, and to express our sincere gratitude for their confidence and the opportunity to carry forward and build upon their legacy.”
“This has been a natural progression over the past three years as Danny has put his 18 years of association experience to work for The Group, ” Robert said. “It is vital to the success of any business to have the right people continue to build on the foundation the original owners have worked so hard to establish. Both Wendy and I are very confident in moving ownership of The Garden Center Group to Danny and Karen, and know that they will nurture and care for The Group in the same manner as we have done for the past fourteen years.”
As Hendrickson steps away from ownership of The Group, he will transition to the role of service provider, along with Sid Raisch, Steve Bailey, Tom Kegley, Jean Seawright, Robert Hayter, Mary Gaskell, Arlene Tannis, Terri Coldreck and others, who have contributed to the growth of The Group and are fully supportive in its future success and will continue to provide the services that make The Group such a unique and valuable experience.
