The city council in Palatine, Ill., denied Kinsch Village Florist and Garden Center’s request to install a sign, but only after a heated debate, according to a report in the Daily Herald.
Ken Kinsch, the company’s owner, was held back by police as he yelled at a resident, Jerry Galvin, who spoke in opposition to the sign.
Kinsch wanted to put a sign for his 76-year-old business on residential property, across the street from Galvin’s house.
Four out of seven council members voted against the proposal.
