Oregon Garden Center Closes

Gray's Garden Center in Eugene, Ore., closed its doors in December and is not expected to open again anytime soon.

Gray’s Garden Center in Eugene, Ore., closed its doors in December and is not expected to open again anytime soon, according to a report in The Register-Guard.

Owners James and Liz Kline have had documented financial troubles since purchasing the business in 2007, but they hoped for Chapter 11 reorganization in bankruptcy court. A judge, however, has recently changed the case status to Chapter 7 liquidation.

A sign on the door at Gray’s Garden Center tells customers it will reopen Jan. 20, but unless the store can find a new owner quickly, this will not happen.

Records in the case show a net loss for the business of over $200,000 for the previous year.
