Syngenta Flowers is once again be offering two $7,500 scholarships to college students who have shown high potential in the fields of plant breeding and ornamental horticulture through scholastic excellence and experience.

Syngenta Flowers is once again be offering two $7,500 scholarships to college students who have shown high potential in the fields of plant breeding and ornamental horticulture through scholastic excellence and experience.

The Glenn Goldsmith Breeding Excellence Scholarship recognizes a college student working toward a degree in plant breeding.

The Goldsmith Seeds Floriculture Business Advancement Scholarship is awarded to a student working toward a degree in ornamental horticulture business.

Each scholarship is for $7,500.

To apply, students must be an undergraduate, master’s or doctoral candidate at an accredited four-year university during the 2014-15 academic school year and carry a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.

Applicants must submit a cover letter indicating the scholarship for which they wish to be considered along with their resume; name of the university they are attending and degree they are working toward with targeted graduation date; a letter of recommendation from the applicant’s professor or academic advisor; and an essay between 1,000 and 1,500 words describing what “Revolutionizing the Plant Experience” means to their career path.

This information must be submitted to [email protected] by June 4, 2014. The winning applicants will be notified by July 1, 2014.

The scholarship recipients will be announced to the public at the Cultivate’14 (formerly OFA Short Course) in Columbus, Ohio, in July.
