Griffin Greenhouse Supplies announced that it will expand the retail division of its lawn and garden business, with emphasis on independent garden centers (IGCs). The company’s plans include the addition of new staff, product lines and services to its retail offering.

As part of the expansion, Griffin welcomes Jim Rottenberg, John Johnston and Megan Karantzalis to its staff. The three new hires, all previously from Commerce Corporation based in Baltimore, Md. Skill set among the trio includes retail space planning and design, brand development and consumer marketing.

“Jim, John and Megan bring a great deal of expertise to the Griffin team,” Rick Hyslip, president of Griffin, said. “Their understanding of retail needs and priorities will guide us in developing and delivering our growing retail offer. We’re enthusiastic about the value they can provide to our IGC customers.”

Through its hard-goods business, Griffin spans a 20-state region from Maine to Georgia. Griffin expects to roll out its broadened retail offer to customers in spring 2013.
