Griffin Greenhouse Supplies recently announced it will expand the retail division of its lawn and garden business, with emphasis on independent garden centers. The company will add new staff, as well as new product lines and services to its retail offerings.

As part of the expansion, the company has hired Jim Rottenberg, John Johnston and Megan Karantzalis. The three are former employees of the Baltimore, Md.-based Commerce Corporation and will assist with retail space planning and design, brand development and consumer marketing.

“Jim, John and Megan bring a great deal of expertise to the Griffin team,” said Rick Hyslip, president of Griffin. “Their understanding of retail needs and priorities will guide us in developing and delivering our growing retail offer. We’re enthusiastic about the value they can provide to our IGC customers.”

Griffin expects to roll out its broadened retail offerings to customers in spring 2013.
