Houzz Survey Reveals Landscape Information

The Spring Houzz Landscaping Survey included more than 4,500 Houzz users who were in the midst of, or planning, a landscape update.

The Spring Houzz Landscaping Survey included more than 4,500 Houzz users who were in the midst of, or planning, a landscape update. The survey found a majority of homeowners making eco-friendly choices for their yard.

Native plants have become popular among homeowners with 92 percent choosing plants that are native to their region. Sixty-seven percent of people chose these plants for lower maintenance.

Edibles are gaining momentum with 70 percent of respondents growing edibles for the first time. Herbs are the most popular (73 percent), then vegetables (70 percent) and finally fruit trees (51 percent).

Two-thirds of homeowners are updating lighting in their yard, with 58 percent using LED lighting and 56 percent using solar-powered lights.
