Indiana Garden Center Opens Cafe and Train Ride

Linton’s Enchanted Gardens in Elkhart, Indiana, has taken customer suggestions to heart, adding a place to eat and entertainment.

The new 60-seat Garden Cafe serves up breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days per week, perfect for tour groups and everyday customers. The addition of a chef, manager and staff for the cafe itself keeps things running smoothly, while maintaining the mission of Linton’s.

“We’re growing our own herbs and vegetables organically, so the chef only has to step outside her kitchen to harvest these items and incorporate them in her kitchen,” owner Mark Linton told the South Bend Tribune.

With stomachs full, Linton’s customers can now hop on a 15-minute narrated train ride around the 9-acre property. Both children and adults can see the display gardens, Lake Linton and the petting zoo for $4.99 per person or a season pass for $9.99.

Linton’s plans to incorporate the train, which runs April through December (weather permitting), in holiday events with the Easter Eggspress, the Pumpkin Patch Express and the Polar Express.
