Three Speakers Announced for 2014 Farwest Show
Dr. Michael Dirr, Dr. Allan Armitage and John Stanley will all speak at the Farwest Trade Show. The show is organized by the Oregon Association of Nurseries and will take place Aug. 21-23 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland, Ore.
Armitage is known for his expertise with the marketing of herbaceous plants and horticultural products. He is a retired professor of horticulture at the University of Georgia and has written more than 70 academic papers, 500 industry papers and 13 books.
Dirr is an expert on woody plants, a retired professor of horticulture at the University of Georgia and a nursery consultant. He has published work in more than 300 publications and authored seven books.
Stanley is a retail consultant, speaker and author who formerly taught perishable retail management at Merristwood College in the U.K.
